Yr 7 Minibook

Thanks to all year 7 parents who attended the Minibook meeting yesterday 11th March.

E-Learning/Minibook presentation followed by registration and form filling session - Thursday 18th March 5.00pm Vincent Hall (Entrance B)

Many parents have already confirmed their interest in signing up to the scheme and this bodes well for the future of the scheme. The school aims to sustain this scheme for the coming years and for this reason all voluntary donations are greatly appreciated. The vision is to be able to continue offering Minibooks or similar devices to all year 7 students when they first arrive at Northolt High and possibly upgrade these devices at the start of year 10. Whilst this is not a guarantee we are aware that the different learning needs of students in years 10 and 11 may well be better served by newer devices that may well not be around now.

This is an exciting time for e-learning at Northolt High and we are one of a relatively small number of schools entering the second year of a Minibook scheme. We are also in touch with other schools running similar projects so that there is an exchange of new ideas and we are constantly looking at modifying teaching and learning to make even better use of the Minibooks.

We will be holding two further meetings next Thursday 18th and Parents evening Thursday 25th during which staff will be on hand to answer questions and assist with the completion of the Home School Agreement and the Donation Mandate forms. If you were unable to make the presentation yesterday there will be a repeat presentation at the start of the evening on Thursday 18th 5.00pm.

Thanks again

Mr Fruzza – e-Learning Manager
