Sixth Form

Life in the Sixth Form is different in a number of ways from that in Years 7 to 11. Students are given OPPORTUNITIES in different ways to develop their knowledge abilities, skills, and understanding. These opportunities are academic through the subjects you study or the courses you follow. However they can also be to support school activities clubs and events, or to take part in sport and voluntary work. Students are also given the opportunity to use their education in the Sixth Form to progress, especially to Higher Education. Each Sixth Form student is supported by a PERSONAL TUTOR who they meet every fortnight. These tutorials support academic progress, planning for the future and making the best use of the opportunities that are available, depending upon each student’s interests and direction. There are EXPECTATIONS of Sixth Form students. Students are expected to ensure they are on time to all their lessons, and, whilst there is no uniform, to wear something suitable. Students are asked not to wear hats inside the school.

Sixth Form students have a SIXTH FORM CENTRE entirely for their own use which includes a Common Room, a Study Room, and their own lockers. This area of the school is not used by the rest of the students and is also open to the Sixth Form after lessons have finished.
