Sixth form results day 2023

Posted on: Aug 17

In recent years, we have formed partnerships with two organisations as part of our sixth form offer. This means that today was a first for us as we were celebrating results of our BTEC Sports students who are studying with the Queens Park Rangers’ College Academy Programme at Rectory Park, and also our Future Stars students, who have been following an elite athlete programme incorporating training in Basketball and Volleyball alongside their academic studies. All of our vocational courses performed very well indeed.

Our STEM specialist A Level and Applied Science BTEC offer also produced some great results and we’re proud to share some individual stories below.

Although the national headline news was about a decline in the number of A* and A grades being awarded, Mann, pictured here with proud members of his family, impressed us all with his three A* grades in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Mann has accepted an offer from Bath University to study MEng Aerospace Engineering. He wished to thank all his teachers “for the hard work they put in supporting me and special thanks to Mrs Gadd, our Director of Sixth Form, who has supported me since year 7”.  Congratulations Mann we are very proud of you and all that you have achieved so far, we will continue to watch your progress in the years to come!

Ajethan, pictured with Mrs Gadd, is another student who achieved outsanding reults with three A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. He has accepted an offer to study Dentistry at Queen Mary’s. “ I would like to thank all the teachers at Northolt High School who have supported me throughout my school journey. All my teachers have gone above and beyond to help me and I couldn't have asked for more. From personal statement help to after school revision, they have supported me all the way”. All the best for next year, Ajethan! Thank you for agreeing to come back to school to talk to some of our Sixth form and lower school students next year about what it takes to enjoy such exam success.

Kia, pictured here with her proud mother, was one of four students who achieved the top three Distinction Star grades in Level 3 BTEC Applied Science. She is progressing to study Midwifery at either Leicester or Bournemouth University. Kia joined our Sixth form as an external student in Year 12. “Northolt High has helped me throughout my two years in the Sixth form. They offer lots of support and the teachers care about you and help you to be the best that you can be. Thank you to Mrs Gadd who helped and supported me throughout”.  Congratulations Kia - your hard work has paid off!

Rowan and Zahrah are both very excited to have achieved the grades they needed to be progressing on from A level to university. Rowan is looking to study Nursing at Kingston, whilst Zahrah is studying Pharmacy at Reading University. They both said “ Northolt High Sixth form is a great environment and you make new, lasting  friendships.”

Congratulations to Jakub who achieved D*D*D in BTEC Applied Science. He has accepted an offer to study Chemistry at Kingston University.  “Northolt High has provided me with excellent support and opportunities. During Sixth Form my confidence has really improved and I have become a more focused and conscientious student.”

Alexys is one of our Future Stars students who has successfully completed her A level and Applied General courses. She was also a recent proud recipient of one of the Descendants Awards for excellence in sport at the secondary level. Alexys is looking to study Architectural and Environmental engineering at Nottingham university.

These are just a few snapshots - we’re really proud of all of our students, who have worked so diligently throughout the last two years. We wish them all the very best and will look to keep in touch to track their progress in years to come.
